Ozeki Goeido
Goeido je v tadnjih treh turnirjih zbral 32 zmag (12:3, 8:7, 12:3) in bil posledično povišan v status ozekija. V Nagoyi je bil na položaju sekiwake že 14. zapored, s čimer je prehitel rekord Kaia, premagal dve yokozuni in oba trenutna ozekija, poleg tega pa spet pobral tudi jun-yusho in sansho, že tretjo zapored.
